How do I know I can trust Genesis with my money?
We understand – sometimes, it feels like it’s hard to know if you can trust a church with your money. From the very beginning, Genesis has been fully committed to exercising full accountability, ethical business practices and wise stewardship with the resources we receive.

How does Genesis use the money it receives?
The money we receive from donations and offerings is used strictly to advance our mission in Royal Oak to help people experience God and follow Jesus is meaningful ways.

Should I give to Genesis?
Our financial support comes from people who tithe (give back to God at least 10% of their earnings) and from the offerings of attenders and supporters. If Genesis is important to your spiritual journey, we encourage you to take an active role in supporting the life of the church through regular giving.

How is the church kept accountable?
High standards for accounting are maintained by the Genesis board of directors, a staff accountant and volunteers who oversee the church’s finances. We publish an annual financial review to keep our community in the loop on current finances and progress toward long term goals.

What happens to any money that is left over at the end of the year?
As a church, Genesis is committed to living with open hands. We use our resources to invest in people and expand God’s Kingdom in Royal Oak and surrounding communities. We aim to be generous and share freely what God provides. We strive to approach spending conservatively and avoid debt where possible. At the end of each budget year, any funds that remain are carried forward and used for ministry expenses in the next year.
