The Garden

What is The Garden?
The Garden is “Where kids go to grow at Genesis.” Serving children from birth through 5th grade, our vision is to be a voice of hope for families and children by communicating the message of Jesus in creative and tangible ways.

Basic Facts
• The Garden runs simultaneously with the adult worship service.
• A pager system is used to provide a simple and quick means of paging parents.
• All of our snacks are peanut and tree nut free.

What will my child do while I am in the service?
Nursery: Infants and Ones: a warm, safe, and loving environment is provided by our volunteers.

Pre-School: Twos, Threes, Fours and Fives: these three classes use play, crafts and creative Bible teaching to help children understand Gods truth.

Elementary: Kindergarten – 5th Grade:  Children participate in worship, large group teachings, small group activities, discussions and prayer. There is a focus in this age group on understanding the Bible and helping children apply it to their lives.

What will happen when we arrive?
We are very excited to have your child join us on a Sunday morning. When you arrive you will register your child/ren and receive matching tags. This tag must be returned when picking up your child. Permanent tags will be made upon request.

What if I want to volunteer in the Garden?
If you are a part of Genesis and are looking for a place to get involved, the Garden has some great opportunities to serve our church, families and kids. There are a variety of ways to serve including kid and non-kids jobs:

• registration – be the first smiling face to greet families
• nursery – loving on little ones
• teachers – ages 2- 5th grade, involves preparing a lesson (curriculum provided) and leading the assistants
• assisting – help the teacher and lead groups of children in activities
• security – provide a safe environment to support parents and Garden staff
• large group leaders/elementary – those who like to be up in front of a group
