Serving at Genesis

There are many ways to serve in Genesis and through Genesis. We call our service of the community and the world our Compassion Ministries. Below is a list of specific examples of how you may get involved and serve the Genesis community:

Meals Team
This team is responsible for preparing and delivering meals to individuals and families in need. You would be in charge of cooking and delivering 1 meal over a 2 week time period. This is a wonderful opportunity to help people through a challenging time (birth, death, illness) in a real and tangible way. Contact Elyse Moore.

Hospitality Team
Greeter: Each Sunday service requires four greeters. The greeters arrives a half-hour before the service, and open the door for each person as they arrive to church. As the people enter the greeters welcomes them, directs them where to go, and generally exudes genuine excitement about the people as the enter. Contact Brenda Tagle

Usher: Each Sunday service requires four ushers. The ushers arrive a half-hour before the service to stand at the sanctuary doors and distribute bulletins. The ushers also help with the offering, and other service related tasks. Contact Brenda Tagle

Garden Volunteer
The Garden is the children’s ministry during the Sunday’s service. Each Sunday requires about 20 volunteers to care for the near 80 children. The volunteer roles vary widely from security and check-in personnel, to teachers and classroom assistants. Contact Manya de Zwaan.

Tech Team
The Tech Team is responsible for the sound, lights and video during the Sunday service and during other events in the sanctuary. Prior technical knowledge is not required to serve, but an interest is helpful. Contact Mark Nielsen

Arts and Creative Team
The scope of this team is extremely broad. It seeks to incorporate the vision, gifting and passion of the team’s members. This team is instrumental in creating the atmosphere on Sunday mornings, designing print material, developing creative elements to accompany the teaching series and executing videos.
