What are some facts about you and your family?
My husband, David, and I have been married for almost 20 years. We live in Ferndale and love being in an area with such diversity.

In your own words what do you get paid to do?
To effectively communicate the church’s activities, mission, and to include the entire community in an inclusive dialogue about Jesus Christ.

Why do you work at Genesis?
Like Ferndale, Genesis is a diverse bunch of people. However, I love most that it is a serving church. Going out with the good word while serving the community feels most at home to me and Genesis is great at it!

What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about helping the marginalized feel included and loved. Reminding them that the words of Jesus are for everyone, especially the “outsiders”. That God does not care how broken we are for we will all be restored. That is such a hopeful and sustaining message for me.

What is one of your greatest memories from a ministry experience?
Doing a shift on a 24 hour of prayer event. It was the first time I had ever prayed with a group for hours. We prayed for individuals who had submitted specific prayer requests. Up until that point, I had never felt so connected to God. It changed my heart forever.

What are you learning right now?
I am learning that it is a must to frequently spend time in the word to stay centered and balanced. Also that life was never promised to be easy but God is constantly faithful and reliable.

What is your best memory from your schooling?
Being fascinated by learning about the many different types of religions around the world. I studied many and continually came back to this. My heart belongs to Christ and there is no denying my reality, even if I tried.
