If you are looking for a way to get plugged in, there are many ways to serve in and through Genesis. Below is a list of specific examples of how you may get involved and serve the Genesis community, and the appropriate person to contact for more information.

Meals Team

This team is responsible for preparing and delivering meals to individuals and families in need. You would be in charge of cooking and delivering 1 meal over a 2 week time period. This is a wonderful opportunity to help people through a challenging time (birth, death, illness) in a real and tangible way.

Coffee: Every Sunday morning, we provide coffee to the people who come to our church for an optional donation. We need our amazing coffee team to make this happen! Brew coffee, set out cups, swap out empty carafes, and engage in light conversation. Bonus points if you know how to pull espresso (although definitely not required!).

Greeter: Each Sunday service requires at least two greeters. The greeters arrives a half hour before the service and open the door for each person as they arrive to church. The greeters welcomes them, directs them where to go, and exudes genuine excitement about the people as the enter. If you love people, it's a great and easy way to make others feel loved!

Usher: Each Sunday service requires two ushers. The ushers arrive a half hour before the service to stand at the sanctuary doors and distribute bulletins. The ushers also help with the offering, and other service related tasks.

Family and Youth Ministry Teams

The Garden and Treehouse are the children’s ministry during the Sunday service. Each Sunday requires about 20 volunteers to care for nearly 80 children. The volunteer roles vary widely, from security and check-in personnel to teachers and classroom assistants.

The Genesis Youth Ministry (GYM) typically meets on Sundays after church for 1.5 to 2 hours and occasional other opportunities to love on middle and high school students. We are looking for mentors for some of the students as well as volunteers to hang out during social events.
